Many things can be described as a “fresh delivery” over the years when it comes to Ballet Des Moines. The past five years have been nothing short of monumental change, with each stage of newness somehow upstaging the last.

With the addition of Josh Bodden as Rehearsal Director at the beginning of the 24-25 season, I couldn’t help but plant the seed that his story should be told as both bold and beautiful. An incredible 23-year career in the dance industry, including positions at Miami City Ballet, Dance Theatre of Harlem, Cincinnati Ballet, and 10 years as a dancer with Kansas City Ballet, and taking a leap of faith in his next chapter with Ballet Des Moines.

After a creative call with dsm Magazine (thank you for trusting me, Annabel) I knew my next call was to none other than THE Maya Boettcher of Wildflower fame. From there, it was just one U-haul, a handful of the best buckets of flowers and the three of us sweating it out at the Wildflower warehouse and voilà: Fresh Delivery.
